The official 516-mile (830 km) clockwise loop around Scotland's north (2015, North Highland Initiative): Inverness, Applecross (Bealach na Bà), Gairloch, Ullapool, Scourie, Durness, Thurso, John o' Groats, Wick, Dunrobin Castle and back. Roughly 30–40% is single-track with passing places; the west coast is the visual peak.
